Kim Yoo-jung begins 100 Days of Deception with Park Jin-young

The year is 1932 and tvN is setting course for 100 Days of Deception (previously 100 Days of Lies) in the first video teaser, where we’re introduced to the period drama’s five troubled leads: Kim Yoo-jung (Dear X), Park Jin-young (Still Shining), Kim Hyun-joo (Hellbound 2), Lee Moo-saeng (As You Stood By), and Jin Seon-gyu (The Price of Confession).
Set against the backdrop of the Japanese annexation in the capital city of Gyeongseong (Seoul in present day), the Korean independence army has been putting a secret plan into motion and they recruit the wily pickpocket Lee Ga-young (Kim Yoo-jung). This puts Ga-young on a 100-day undercover mission and is positioned as a student interpreter in the Japanese General Government building.
It is here that Ga-young meets the trilingual Kim Tae-woong (Park Jin-young), a newly-appointed interpreter fluent in Japanese, English, and Korean. And oh the complications that arise when their relationship deepens because Tae-woong – also known by his Japanese name, Sato Hideo – is the adopted son of a powerful government official.
The mission at hand, though, is especially important to Yoo So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo), who is married as a cover to the Korean-American news correspondent Philip Yoo (Lee Moo-saeng). Although they’re both working for the independence movement, So-ran trained to become a sniper in order to settle a personal vendetta. And the target is Sato Shinichi (Jin Seon-gyu), the secretary of state for political affairs who is of course Tae-woong’s father.
Slated to premiere this October in the weekend slot, production for the 16-episode spy-romance has PD Yoo In-shik (The WONDERfools, Extraordinary Attorney Woo) at the helm and scripts penned by Ryu Bo-ri (Trolley, Do You Like Brahms).
