Announcer Choi Dong Seok has reportedly filed an appeal after refusing to accept the first-trial ruling in his alienation-of-affection lawsuit against an acquaintance of his ex-wife, Park Ji Yoon.
According to Star News, Choi submitted a notice of appeal the previous day to the Jeju District Court’s Family Division 2. This comes about a month after the court issued a dismissal. Previously, Park Ji Yoon filed a lawsuit in 2024 against Choi Dong Seok’s acquaintance, identified as Mr. A, for alleged infidelity. Choi denied the claims as “groundless,” and instead alleged that Park had maintained an inappropriate relationship with her male friend, Mr. B. He subsequently filed a similar lawsuit against both Park and Mr. B.
In response, Park stated, “During my marriage, I never committed any affair or immoral act.” While she acknowledged staying overnight at Mr. B’s home, she asserted that Mr. B has a different sexual orientation and that Choi was aware of this fact.
Park Ji Yoon and Choi Dong Seok were both part of the 30th class of KBS announcers and married in 2009. They have one son and one daughter. After 14 years of marriage, the couple decided to divorce in October 2023 and submitted an application for divorce mediation to the court.
