Park Kyung Gu, leader and singer-songwriter of the band Eoljinity, passed away on February 7, 2026, at the age of 38. News of his passing was shared through his personal account that day, though the specific cause of death was not disclosed.

Park Kyung Gu was a musician beloved by many fans for his unique indie sensibility, lyrical songwriting, and distinctive voice. He played a key role in shaping Jang Beom June’s early musical world before Jang rose to fame with Busker Busker. A high school classmate of Jang Beom June, Park was deeply involved in Jang’s first solo album, to the extent that some described it as nearly a “joint album.” He participated extensively in composing, arranging, and writing lyrics for every track, including the title song “Difficult Woman,” as well as “The One Who Suits the Word Love,” “Sinpung Station Exit 2 Blues,” “Scary Unrequited Love,” “Fallen Leaves Ending,” and “My Heart Becomes You.”

In March of last year, when Jang Beom June released his fourth album, a message he posted at the time has resurfaced. Along with album photos, Jang wrote, “Wishing Kyung Goo good health, and sending ‘Noona’ together with this album.” Park had replied at the time, “I’m healthy.” After news of his passing, fans returned to the post, leaving messages of mourning such as, “You said you were healthy…” and “Were you actually unwell?”

Park Kyung Goo was a creator who moved between the stage and the studio, writing music in his own language. His songs continue to echo through many listeners’ playlists. May he rest in peace.
