A Korean star couple has shared the joyful news that they are becoming parents, after suffering from a miscarriage and multiple failed IVF attempts.
On the 17th, actress Moon Ji In, who is married to comedian Kim Ki Lee, posted a lengthy message on her social media announcing her pregnancy herself. She said, “It feels like we just announced our marriage recently, but now it’s already our third year, and we are becoming mom and dad,” adding, “So, it’s not just the two of us anymore, but three.”
She continued, “Our little one, who we will meet this coming August, was someone I briefly met and parted with shortly after we got married,” revealing, “Since then, it felt like a long wait for me.”
Moon Ji In confessed that the process was not easy. She said, “I temporarily put aside things I enjoyed, like my work, soccer, and YouTube, and spent that time making many efforts,” adding, “There were moments when it felt like a part of my life was on pause.”
However, she expressed her gratitude for the child who came back to them. “In the confusing moments of repeated failures, thankfully, life itself came back to me on its own,” she said, “I believe that difficult journey was a precious path toward reuniting with our child.”
She went on to say, “We will prepare well for this new journey as a family of three,” and vowed, “I will do my best to be a proper parent and build a healthy family.” She added, “I will also pray that every family waiting earnestly for their precious child will meet that little life as soon as possible.”
Kim Ki Lee and Moon Ji In are known as a representative “comedian and actress couple” in the entertainment industry, having first met at church and formed their relationship. They reportedly spent about two years as friends before deciding to marry.
