Netflix animation KPop Demon Hunters lifted two trophies at the Golden Globe Awards.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony was held at 8pm on the 11th local time at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California, USA. On this day, KPop Demon Hunters won the Best Song Motion Picture for “Golden” and also clinched the Best Animated Motion Picture award.

After receiving the Best Song Motion Picture award, EJAE, who sang as the character Rumi of HUNTR/X, took the stage with tears in her eyes and shared an emotional speech. EJAE said, “I was rejected and disappointed that my voice wasn’t good enough, and it was a great disappointment. So I leaned on songs and music to get through it.” She added, “This award goes to people who have had doors closed at them. I can confidently say rejection is redirection, so never give up and it’s never too late to shine like you were born to be.”

KPop Demon Hunters set the highest box office record among Netflix films. Released last June, it broke Netflix’s all-time most-viewed film record and was the first English-language film to maintain the No. 1 global spot even in its fifth week after release. The total number of streams surpassed 500 million.

Alongside the film, the song “Golden” also received great love. The soundtrack album was nominated in five categories at the Grammy Awards. “Golden” won best song at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes and is also considered a strong candidate for the Oscar Best Original Song.
