Lee Jun-hyuk investigates Shin Hye-sun in The Art of Sarah

Promotions have begun for Netflix’s crime-thriller The Art of Sarah starring Shin Hye-sun (Dear Hyeri) and Lee Jun-hyuk (Mercy for None) in a tale of one woman’s desires to become a name brand. Alas, as ambitions fuel lies, the mystery deepens, and the hunt for the truth becomes a dangerous chase.
The trailer opens to a scene of a woman hanging onto a garbage chute with only her fingers visible. It then cuts to a woman standing in a hall filled with luxury items as she introduces herself as Sarah Kim (Shin Hye-sun). Coincidentally, it also happens to be the name of the deceased victim discovered in the sewers by Detective Park Mu-gyeong (Lee Jun-hyuk), but despite knowing her name, the victim’s identity cannot be verified since no records of “Sarah Kim” exist.
With a haunted expression on her face, Sarah wonders where things went wrong, and as if answering her question, Mu-gyeong says that she made her decision back then. If she could not change her reality where she ate scraps off the dishes she washed, then she would change who she was and become someone who wore the finest things in life.
As Mu-gyeong digs deeper into this mysterious lady, he speculates that she changed identities multiple times over the course of several years. However, when truths and lies become indistinguishable, what really is fake? Undeterred from his quest, Mu-gyeong questions who the person sitting across from him is, and Sarah remains silent in the face of his anger as she shifts from one environment to another with ease.
Directed by PD Kim Jin-min (Goodbye Earth, My Name) making this his fourth project with the streaming site and written by Choo Song-yeon, Netflix’s The Art of Sarah is slated for eight episodes and premieres February 13.
