Lee Jun-young is Suddenly Intern in JTBC’s new drama

Promotions have begun for JTBC’s newest office fantasy Suddenly Intern with a set of stills from the drama’s first script reading. Based on a webnovel of the same name, the show stars Lee Jun-young (Pump Up the Healthy Love) as the titular intern who swaps bodies with the company’s chairman.
Hwang Joon-hyun (Lee Jun-young) is an energetic and passionate soccer player who dreams of playing in the premier league one day. However, after an accident, he switches bodies with Chairman Kang Yong-ho, played by Sohn Hyun-joo (Your Honor).
Chairman Kang is a cutthroat businessman who raised his company Choiseong Group to become the tenth biggest conglomerate in the country. He believes everything revolves around money and passed along these values to his twins, pushing them to compete even against each other. Once known as a “business god,” the chairman is forced to experience a second chance at life when he wakes up in Joon-hyun’s body, but will his business acumen be enough to reclaim the company as a lowly intern?
In the role of the illegitimate daughter Kang Bang-geul is Lee Joo-myung (My Youth). She was forced to study abroad fifteen years ago and lived as a free spirit for most of her life. However, deep inside, she harbors a dangerous ambition and joins Choiseong Group as a new employee under an alias.
As for the other members of the chairman’s family, Jeon Hye-jin (Mother and Mom) plays eldest daughter Kang Jae-kyung alongside Jin Gu as her twin brother Kang Jae-sung. From a young age, their father forced them to fight over the littlest things, and as expected, once the chairman gets into an accident, the twins begin plotting their respective takeovers. While Jae-kyung is the hotheaded type to push ahead once she sets her mind on a goal, Jae-sung is a ball of inferiority complex fueled by greed.
Directed by PD Go Hye-jin (My Youth) with scripts by Hyun Ji-min (Pandora: Beneath the Paradise), Suddenly Intern is slated for twelve episodes and premieres May 30 in the Saturday-Sunday slot.
