As public outrage over director Kim Chang Min‘s death continues to mount, a fresh controversy has emerged after the personal details of two men implicated in his fatal assault started circulating online.

Recently, multiple posts containing personal information of individuals “A” and “B,” who have been referred to the prosecution without detention on charges of causing death through injury, have gone viral across community forums in Korea. As many started digging into the history of these two accused, it was found that “A” reportedly released a hip-hop song with an acquaintance last month featuring lyrics such as “The innocent in me is already gone” and “I’ve become a thug.”

These lyrics have fired up netizens, who believe that the song is glaring evidence of “A” lacking any remorse for causing the death of an innocent man. “A” and “B” are also suspected of being affiliated with an organized crime syndicate operating in the Guri area. However, the syndicate in question clarified that the two were not official members.
“A” and “B” are under investigation for fatally assaulting the director Kim Chang Min last year after they got into an altercation. The incident occurred at a restaurant in Guri, where Kim was having a meal with his son, who has autism. The situation got heated after the accused reportedly complained about Kim’s son making noises, and it quickly escalated to a brutal physical brawl. Kim was beaten up by multiple people, and upon his arrival at a nearby hospital was declared brain dead. Despite the police requesting arrest warrants for the two suspects, the courts denied them, claiming that they were not a flight risk. As the case garnered public attention recently, the details related to the investigation have only triggered massive public fury.
