Park Min-young, Yook Sung-jae, Go Soo
- Nine to Six has officially been slotted on SBS’s schedule, confirming Park Min-young (Siren’s Kiss), Yook Sung-jae (The Haunted Palace), and Go Soo (Parole Examiner Lee) as the office rom-com leads. Adapted from the Chinese drama The Rational Life, the Korean remake will be coming to our screens later this year, with PD Lee Hyung-min (Miss Night and Day) directing and writing by Choi Ji-oh. - A new mystery-melodrama called Jae-yi’s Young-in (translated title) is also in the works, lining up Lee Young-ae (Walking on Thin Ice) and Yoo Ji-tae (Villains) to headline the series. Production is in the early stages, led by PD Oh Ki-hwan (The Defects) and writer Jo Eun-jung (Happy Home). Notably, the two actors last acted together on the 2001 film One Fine Spring Day, which spread the ‟ramen and dating” innuendo in Korean pop culture. [MBC]
- Casting also continues for KBS’s Dating Someone Else Not You, which has reportedly added Kim Nam-hee (Moon River) and Lee Min-jae (My Troublesome Star), and Kwak Shi-yang (My Dearest Nemesis) to the lineup. Headlined by Seo Kang-joon (Undercover High School) and Ahn Eun-jin (Dynamite Kiss), the romance is expected to broadcast later in 2026. PD Hwang Seung-ki (The Matchmakers) is attached to direct with scripts by rookie writer Yoo Su-ji. [MBC]
- New character posters have come out on MBC’s Perfect Crown, setting the mood for a bit of angst in our tale, a side course to the romance. This puts chaebol IU (When Life Gives You Tangerines), prince Byun Woo-seok (Lovely Runner), prime minister Noh Sang-hyun (Genie Make a Wish), and queen dowager Gong Seung-yeon (My Lovely Journey) at odds within a 21st century (fictional) monarchy that probably shouldn’t be dictating society’s dos and don’ts. The series unfolds on weekends, starting April 10. [MBC]
- TVING has dropped a new poster as well, sparking ~hearts~ between Kim Go-eun (The Price of Confession) and Kim Jae-won (The Art of Sarah) on the upcoming third season of Yumi’s Cells. Slated to premiere next month on April 13, the office romance will be airing in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot, following Siren’s Kiss. Production remains in the hands of PD Lee Sang-yub (My Youth) as well as writers, Song Jae-jung (Memories of the Alhambra) and Kim Kyung-ra. [MBC]
