Police Accuse Popular Korean Celebrity Of Illegal Gambling
On January 30, 2026 (KST), Edaily reported that MC Mong was allegedly given and took Zolpidem, a psychotropic drug, that had been prescribed under his manager’s name.
The outlet released a transcript of a conversation involving MC Mong’s former manager, Manager A, from last June. In the recording, A reportedly called Manager B, a manager at MC Mong’s former agency ONE HUNDRED, saying, “(MC Mong) asked for it, so I gave it to him.”
MC Mong denied the claims through the media, stating that the transcript was manipulated. He asserted that the prescription was under his own name and that he had never received a single pill from Manager A. However, when asked about the transcript, he later changed his statement, saying, “I may have taken one or two pills. I couldn’t sleep, so it’s possible I took what was left.”
Regarding the matter, a representative from MC Mong’s former agency, ONE HUNDRED, told News1 that the employee mentioned in the transcript had already resigned.

MC Mong himself left ONE HUNDRED, where he had served as executive producer, in June of last year. At the time, the agency only stated, “Due to personal reasons, MC Mong has been excluded from company duties.”
Later, in December, a media outlet reported that MC Mong was in a relationship with Chairwoman Cha Ga Won, who is married, and that there was an instance of ₩12.0 billion KRW (about $8.27 million USD) being directly given to MC Mong. MC Mong denied the claim, saying, “I swear I never had any inappropriate relationship like that.” Cha Ga Won’s side also stated, “This is not true.”
