Famous Korean YouTuber Sutak, who was a victim of kidnapping and assault, expressed anger toward the perpetrators who submitted letters of apology.
On the 9th, Sutak revealed through his YouTube channel community, “I am currently receiving petitions related to the trial and am writing this post to ask for help.”
Sutak shared an update, saying, “It has been four months since I experienced the attempted kidnapping, robbery, and murder, and about two months since my return. Currently, I am only undergoing treatment for a torn forehead scar and a few psychological counseling sessions. The double vision, photopsia, and facial sensory issues caused by fractured fingers and orbital bone fractures need more time to heal, but they are gradually improving, so you can rest assured.”
Referring to his birthday on the 7th, he said, “Even this birthday felt complicated emotionally because I thought I might never get to see it again. It’s bitter to think that everything and precious connections almost didn’t continue due to the hands of others.”
Regarding the ongoing trial, Sutak said, “The trial against the perpetrators is currently underway. Until recently, the perpetrators have repeatedly submitted apology letters, and I hear that they have written over 40 letters so far. Honestly, as the victim, I can’t help but feel deeply resentful and angry.”
He added, “If they truly felt remorse for the crimes they committed and wanted to take responsibility, they should not have submitted apology letters but instead submitted petitions requesting appropriate severe punishment for their crimes.”
Last October, Sutak was kidnapped and brutally assaulted by men in their 20s and 30s in an underground parking lot of an apartment in Songdo International City, Incheon. At the time, Sutak suffered serious injuries including orbital bone fractures, a fractured ring finger, 35 stitches on his forehead and jaw, as well as diminished vision and hearing. Police arrested the perpetrators on charges including joint confinement at a park in Boksu-myeon, Geumsan-gun, Chungnam Province.
