Comedian Kim Sook has revealed an unexpected downside of showing her dream vacation home on television. Apparently, strangers are now treating it like a tourist destination!
During a recent appearance on model Han Hye Jin‘s YouTube channel, Kim Sook opened up about life after publicly revealing her renovated Jeju home.
When Han Hye Jin asked how things were going with the property, Kim Sook shared a surprising story. The comedian explained that visitors regularly show up outside the home after recognizing it from television.
“I heard my house has become one of the stops on local tourist courses. Ra Mi Ran was visiting, and within just 5 to 10 minutes, around ten groups of tourists showed up. They even asked Ra Mi Ran if they could go inside the house.”
The revelation shocked Han Hye Jin, who then shared a similar experience of her own. The model previously showcased her countryside home in Hongcheon on various broadcasts and said she once encountered a complete stranger on her property. Han Hye Jin explained that the person had apparently wandered onto the property without permission.
“I came out after taking a shower and found someone sitting on my porch drinking coffee and smoking. I never invited them. They just walked in. I think they genuinely believed they were a guest.”
Kim Sook was left stunned by the story, particularly after learning that the stranger had even lit a cigarette while on the property. Kim Sook’s Jeju home first gained attention earlier this year after she documented the process of transforming an abandoned property into a shared vacation house.
The renovation reportedly took nearly a year to complete and became a major talking point among viewers after being featured on television.
The project attracted additional attention after it was revealed that the property sits within a designated cultural heritage preservation area, requiring strict approvals and compliance with landscape protection regulations before construction could proceed.
While the completed home became a source of pride for Kim Sook, it appears the unexpected popularity has also created a new challenge.
