Veteran Korean actress Nam Jung Hee, best known to K-Drama fans for her role in My Love From The Star, has passed away.

The news was confirmed by the Association of Senior Filmmakers and Nam’s family. The 84-year-old actress passed peacefully at her home on January 22 due to health complications related to old age. Nam had received spinal surgery around a year ago and had been facing declining health conditions afterwards.
Born in 1942, Nam Jung Hee made her acting debut at 20 in the 1962 film Simcheongjeon. In her career spanning over six decades, she has worked in over 300 K-Dramas and movies. Some of her more recent works include dramas such as Pride and Prejudice, Pinocchio, She was Pretty, and Strangers from Hell.
The news of a veteran like Nam Jung Hee’s passing has delivered yet another devastating blow to the Korean entertainment industry. May she rest in peace.
