MBC Addresses “I Live Alone” Exposé Amid Manipulation Controversy
Although I Live Alone denied the usage of a script, many believe there can’t be no script at all in a variety show. They point out that MBC’s “planning proposal” submitted to Incheon Airport for filming permission closely matches Jun Hyun Moo monologue in the broadcast and the process of deciding the travel destination to Kazakhstan, raising suspicions that the so-called “planning proposal” is effectively a script.
Many netizens responded, saying, “What angers people is not the existence of a script but that they emphasized it was an ‘impromptu trip’ while it was actually a ‘planned trip,’” “The producers should stop airing it and just quit. How can they get Kazakhstan so right?” “Is Jun Hyun Moo a shaman?” “It was broadcast almost exactly as written, so it’s hard to believe they didn’t know,” “Honestly, having some script and plan isn’t a problem, so why make a fuss?” “The phone call to Ku Sung Hwan was verbatim too, wasn’t it?”
