Actress Go Youn Jung has become a hot topic online after a photograph from her university days resurfaced, leaving netizens amazed by her beauty even before her entertainment debut.
Recently, a poster reportedly created for a 2016 university festival at Seoul Women’s University began circulating across Korean online communities. The poster featured a young Go Youn Jung, who was a student at the university at the time, promoting a student-run festival pub.
In the photograph, Go Youn Jung wore a simple white knit sweater and rested her chin on her hand while looking directly at the camera. Despite the photograph being taken approximately ten years ago, her striking features and elegant appearance immediately attracted attention.
The poster was reportedly created to promote a pub operated by students during the university’s annual festival.
However, it wasn’t just the resurfaced photograph that caught people’s attention. A netizen claiming to have attended the same university as Go Youn Jung shared an account of just how popular the actress was because of her beauty, even before she became famous. According to the former schoolmate, Go Youn Jung’s photograph was used to advertise the department’s festival pub, and the response was overwhelming.
“During our university festival, we ran a department pub, and we used a photo of that younger student for the poster. Of course, the place was completely packed, and I got so many questions from friends visiting the campus asking who she was.”
The netizen claimed that Go Youn Jung’s appearance was so captivating that people visiting the university became curious about her identity simply after seeing the promotional poster. But what surprised readers even more was the former schoolmate’s insistence that the photograph did not come close to capturing how beautiful Go Youn Jung looked in person.
“But the truth is, that photo didn’t do her justice at all. Later, when she first debuted and I heard she was going to be on TV, I watched her, but she looked so much less beautiful on screen compared to real life.”
The former schoolmate also praised Go Youn Jung’s personality, recalling that she was not only exceptionally beautiful but also friendly and polite.
“Her face was incredibly beautiful, of course, but she was also so bright and cheerful whenever she greeted people.”
The account has attracted attention because Go Youn Jung is already widely recognized for her distinctive visuals, with her appearance frequently becoming a topic of discussion among K-Drama fans. Born in 1996, Go Youn Jung studied contemporary art at Seoul Women’s University before pursuing a career in entertainment.
