Reasons to watch: Kim Hye-yoon is making her dramaland return in the new SBS rom-com, No Tail to Tell with Lomon joining as her co-star. This marks her first drama following the 2024 megahit, Lovely Runner.
She will be taking on the role of a legendary creature, the gumiho. Gumihos are commonly known for their desire to become human and their plush nine tails, but only one of those two things applies to Kim. Unlike other gumihos, Kim has spent centuries maintaining her karmic balance so that she can stay forever young. Who wants all the drudgery of a normal, human life? Not Kim Hye-yoon, who makes sure to follow a few simple rules to maintain her immortality: Don’t do too many evil deeds, don’t do too many good deeds, and don’t fall in love with a human.
Enter Lomon. He’s a hotshot soccer player, and he’s proof that what they say about best-laid plans is true, as he inadvertently becomes the cause of Kim’s abrupt transformation into a human. Is this the end of her gumiho era or is there a way back to immortality?
I am so ready for this drama. Kim Hye-yoon is adept at bringing a really bright, high-energy presence to her characters, and it’ll be especially fun to see her bring that to a fantastical creature-turned human. I’m also looking forward to seeing Lomon take on a lighter role and show off his comedic chops, since most of his big roles have been in darker projects. Here’s hoping for swoons, laughs, and chaos!
