Some have given a reason for the drop.

One of the most significant parts of the K-Pop experience these days is the release of physical albums, as they are viewed as collectibles.  Some groups have managed to reach the level of million or even double million sellers, while on the other side, some groups’ low sales have also attracted attention.

Recently, the low sales of a rookie boy group have become a topic of discussion.

In early 2025, Starship Entertainment’s survival show, Debut Plan, showcased the selection process for the company’s first boy group since Cravity. Following the departure of one of the group’s members, IDID made their official debut in September 2025 with I Did It.

Recently, the group returned with “FLY!,” their second physical release since debut.

The group’s first album sold over 235,000 copies during the first week, and usually, a group will increase sales as time goes on. However, with the sales for FLY!, an extremely sharp downtown has been documented.

In total, for the first week, the album sold 1,485 copies, with some days only selling 2 or 3 copies.

Many reacted with confusion over the massive drop, considering the the group is under a larger label like Starship Entertainment.

I’m so confused. Not even 10k? Must be some mistake bc how??? https://t.co/O6QxquijJN

    GIRL WTF?!?!
this is INSANE, a bg dropping this much?!?!?!

either starship bought all their debut albums & dgaf this time, the debut gained them no retaining fans, or it was a massive undershipment. but since they just announced a new bg…. YIKES! https://t.co/dQIn4HlYSk

However, fans have offered a possible explanation for the lowered sales.

There is only one version of FLY!, and it is around ₩56,000 KRW (about $37.00 USD) at the cheapest; for comparison a three set of the group’s first album only costs a few cents more.

for those who don’t know about IDID. starship only release a limited version of their album. no standard photobook

around $38 during preorder & $42 for events. the stocks are so limited. most preorder albums are not shipped yet. they even use debut album for fansign instead. https://t.co/slqPa0NeQc pic.twitter.com/alyqIVTzdr

Still, with such a sudden drop, it is clear why so many have questions about the sales.
