Park Eun-bin is the misunderstood heiress in Spooky in Love

tvN’s upcoming spine-chilling romance Spooky in Love has dropped a teaser and poster featuring its leading lady Park Eun-bin (The WONDERfools). Based on the 2011 movie Spellbound, our heroine is cursed to see ghosts, and in this adaptation, anyone who touches her hand will have this unwanted ability bestowed upon them, too.
As a chaebol heiress and luxury hotel CEO, Cheon Yeo-ri (Park Eun-bin) receives her fair share of jealous looks and rumors. It also does not help that Yeo-ri always wears gloves and keeps everyone at a distance because of her ghost-seeing powers. Thus, when she abruptly stops in the middle of the hall and orders her staff to step back, it only solidifies her image as an uppity heiress.
When a worker asks if she has always been this rude, the answer is a resounding yes. No matter who it is, Yeo-ri ignores everyone she meets, which makes sense since ghosts are constantly bombarding her. However, to her staff, it feels like she thinks they are below her and therefore invisible. They wish a ghost would take away entitled people like her, and in this case, that might actually happen. As a spectral visitor wakes Yeo-ri up from her sleep, the heiress looks spooked at first, but soon regains her composure and invites “us” into her home.
Adding the romance to this horror rom-com is Yang Se-jong (Low Life) as Prosecutor Ma Kang-wook. In the poster, he is touching hands with Yeo-ri, and the text reads, “The moment our hands touch, a spooky romance begins.” Also in the show is Ong Sung-woo (Boyfriend on Demand) who plays a rival hotel CEO.
Directed by PD Lee Min-soo (Resident Playbook) with scripts written by Choi Jung-mi, Spooky in Love begins its twelve-episode haunting on July 18 in the Saturday-Sunday slot.
