A new office romance is officially on the horizon for Netflix, kicking off production with the first script reading and setting the scene for our two squabbling foes – Park Hyung-shik (Twelve) and Park Kyu-young (Squid Game 3) – to inevitably Fall in Love (previously, A Proper Romance).
You see, many years ago, when the scaredy-cat Na Jung-seok (Park Hyung-shik) was completing his mandatory military service, he had a miserable time trying to adjust to a soldier lifestyle. And it was made worse by being assigned to report to his nightmare superior Woo Ah-mi (Park Kyu-young), though Jung-seok did learn and grow from that grueling experience.
Ah-mi came from the special forces and was infamous among the troops for being particularly militant at that time. And now, in our story’s present day, our heroine has since put the armed forces behind her and is making a fresh start in a new line of work. This then leads Ah-mi to an intern position at a camping equipment company. However, karma has turned the tables because her new boss – and CEO of the business – is none other than her former army junior, Na Jung-seok.
Adding to the corporate characters, although not officially confirmed, Lee Jong-won (You and Everything Else) is reportedly taking on the role of Joo Han-min, the company’s chief strategy officer. As an American citizen, Han-min was exempted from (South Korean) army duty and happens to be one of very few in the office who never served in the military.
On the production side, Netflix’s Fall in Love has PD Nam Sung-woo (My Lovely Liar, My Roommate Is a Gumiho) directing and scripts by Kim Ha-na (Heartbeat, My Secret Romance).
