Park Na Rae Undergoes Intense Police Interrogation For Hours

Comedian Park Na Rae underwent a second police questioning related to her lawsuit against former managers.

According to reports, Park Na Rae appeared at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul around 8pm on the 14th and was questioned as the accuser for about six hours until 2am the next morning. This came roughly a month after the first interrogation on December 19 last year.

Previously, Park Na Rae had filed lawsuits against two former managers on charges of attempted extortion and occupational embezzlement. The police also investigated former manager A on the 20th of last month. However, controversy arose when it was revealed that A had left for Las Vegas, USA, two days after the investigation and had been staying there for about three weeks.

In response, A’s side explained to a media outlet, “They are staying in the U.S. for health reasons,” and added, “They have already completed all planned investigations as both accuser and accused. If additional investigations are necessary, they will return immediately.”

The former managers filed a petition last month at the Seoul Western District Court requesting provisional seizure of real estate worth about ₩100 million KRW (about $68,000 USD) against Park Na Rae, claiming workplace harassment, unauthorized prescription, and non-payment of expenses. They also filed a complaint at the Gangnam Police Station citing charges of special assault, defamation by false facts, and violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

In response, Park Na Rae filed a lawsuit on the 5th of last month against the former managers for attempted extortion and added an additional suit on the 20th for occupational embezzlement. Both sides have exchanged multiple lawsuits and complaints and are currently awaiting the authorities’ verdict.

The investigation is ongoing, and depending on the police’s conclusion, the repercussions are expected to grow significantly.
