Broadcaster Park Na Rae, who has been embroiled for months in allegations of manager abuse and illegal medical practices, appeared before the press after completing her first suspect interrogation. She showed a relatively calm demeanor following the long investigation.

On the 20th, Park Na Rae appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul for her initial interrogation regarding charges including special injury and violations of medical law. Emerging around 10:40 p.m. after about seven and a half hours of questioning, she wore a black coat and glasses. Although appearing somewhat gaunt, her expression was relatively composed.

She stated, “I answered the investigators’ questions sincerely and truthfully.” When asked if she admitted to the manager abuse allegations, she was reserved, saying, “I believe these matters will be revealed through the investigation later on.” When asked if she had anything to say to her former managers, she answered briefly, “No.” She then bowed deeply at 90 degrees, saying, “I apologize for causing concern due to my uncomfortable issues.”

However, she declined to comment on allegations involving her mother and staff at her ex-boyfriend’s agency, reasons for postponing her appearance, or accusations regarding illegal drug use.

After answering reporters’ questions, Park Na Rae got into a vehicle and greeted, “Please get home safely. It’s late, but Happy New Year.” This moment spread online and sparked mixed reactions.

Some netizens responded, “Is this the right time for that kind of greeting?”, “She has the composure of Lee Jin Wook and G-Dragon,” and “There’s no sign of remorse.” On the other hand, some argued, “It could be a psychological response to ease tension after a long investigation,” and “She was simply being polite.”

This recent appearance has also been compared to past police appearances by actor Lee Jin Wook and singer G-Dragon.

Lee Jin Wook was accused of sexual assault in 2016 but was later cleared of charges. His relatively confident attitude before the press at the time has been noted. Similarly, G-Dragon underwent police investigation over drug allegations but was ultimately tested negative and not indicted. His relaxed demeanor during the investigation was also a topic of discussion.

Both ultimately were cleared and returned to their activities. Some online comments have urged caution, stating, “We should wait until the results come out.”

Currently, Park Na Rae is reportedly involved in a total of eight cases, six at the Gangnam Police Station and two at the Yongsan Police Station.

Her former managers filed complaints alleging workplace harassment, verbal abuse, unpaid expenses, and proxy prescriptions. Park Na Rae’s side has countersued for attempted extortion and breach of trust in business.
