Actress Park Shin Hye‘s recent TV appearance took an unexpectedly emotional turn as the actress revealed a difficult health diagnosis her father received recently.

On January 21, KST, the actress appeared on the popular tvN show You Quiz On The Block and shared stories from different stages of her career. Looking back to the very beginning, Park revealed that she entered the industry after being recommended by teachers at her church. Since her parents were not financially stable at that time, they initially opposed the idea.
However, seeing how badly their daughter wanted to try it out, her parents changed their minds and packed up their lives in Gwangju to move to Seoul. “We lived in a semibasement,” Park recalled, adding, “My mother worked cleaning toilets and selling insurance, while my father drove a taxi.” The actress expressed her deep gratitude to her parents for their sacrifices, recalling that they continued working even after her debut.
The atmosphere then suddenly turned emotional as Park Shin Hye talked about her father’s current health condition. “Recently, he was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm, and they also found a heart condition,” the actress revealed, breaking down in tears. She added that this diagnosis made her realize that the father she once thought was the invincible Superman was, in fact, not a superhero.
The actress choked up, voicing her fears about her father’s health. “Honestly, it’s scary because you never know when a brain aneurysm might rupture. And lately, I’ve been feeling my age because I find myself going to funeral homes more often…” she reflected. Park concluded by saying that realizing she could lose her family at any moment has only made her treasure them even more.
