Park Sung-woong and Lee Seo-hwan feud over Cabbage Your Life

    by lovepark

Promotions are pouring in for KBS’s country-life sitcom Cabbage Your Life with two teasers and an adorable new poster of the transplant family looking cozy in their rustic home. Contrary to the sepia-toned image, however, the move is less cottage-core retreat and more dilapidated disaster as Park Sung-woong (Nine Puzzles) struggles to adjust to farming alongside his wife Lee Soo-kyung (Dog Knows Everything).

Thanks to a hiccup at work, Sung Tae-hoon (Park Sung-woong) transfers to Yeonli-ri to research cabbage, but not everyone welcomes the new neighbors with open arms. In particular, village chief Im Ju-hyeong, played by Lee Seo-hwan (Law and the City), vows to protect the town and orders the rest of the villagers to not help Tae-hoon. Cue our city dweller screaming in frustration while the village chief cackles in the background.

While the two families declare war, the relationship between their children takes a different turn. Eldest son Sung Ji-cheon, played by Lee Jin-woo (Namib), falls in love with the village chief’s daughter Im Bo-mi, played by Choi Gyuri (Our Universe), and unlike their fathers, life seems easier when they’re together. Alas, given the ongoing battle raging out in the field, Ji-cheon and Bo-mi agree to keep their relationship a secret.

The second teaser opens to Tae-hoon arriving at a barren farm where he begins questioning his life. The rundown “office” is a clear step down from his previous position, and their new home leaves the rest of his family flabbergasted. Not everything, though, is terrible in Yeonli-ri, and while Tae-hoon fails to grow cabbage, Ji-cheon has a bit more success sowing the seeds of love with Bo-mi.

Unable to till his field, Tae-hoon begs Ju-hyeong for help, but the village chief laughs in his face. He then has a bbq party on his farm surrounded by a bountiful harvest of cabbages while Tae-hoon throws a tantrum on his empty land. Adding salt to the wound, Ju-hyeong threatens to kick out anyone who helps the newcomers, leaving Tae-hoon desperate to return home and out of this country-side calamity.

KBS’s Cabbage Your Life is directed by PD Choi Yeon-su (Pump Up the Healthy Love) with scripts by Song Jung-lim (My Merry Marriage) and Wang Hye-ji (Nothing Series). The twelve-episode sitcom premieres March 26 and airs one episode every Thursday.
