A threat directed at BABYMONSTER’s Ahyeon has left fans deeply concerned for her safety.

Currently midway through their CHOOM WORLD TOUR, the BABYMONSTER members recently departed Seoul for their concert in Manila, Philippines, on September 5th. Excitement was dampened, however, when fans noticed a graphic threat made on the group’s Weverse channel.

In the post, the user claimed that they would be waiting to attack Ahyeon and “stab” her to death upon her upcoming return from Manila, naming “shipping” drama as their reasoning.
ahyeon u can be happy now but be ready because when youre coming back from manilla to korea, ill be waiting to kill u, ill definitely pin u on the ground, stab u till u die!! im gonna fullfill my wish, because your the reason my male idol bias are gettin ship with u. i hate u so much, i just want rami to do all the vocal.. and remember, if i miss the chance of killing u, ill be waiting at the airport everytime after each country concert

While malicious comments aren’t rare in K-Pop, numerous fans have argued that the specificity of the threat should not be ignored. Now, they’re urging YG Entertainment not to dismiss the post as harmless trolling given the potential risk and demanding that the company take action to protect both Ahyeon and the remaining BABYMONSTER members.

We strongly condemn the violent threats directed at AHYEON. This is a serious matter concerning her safety and should not be treated as fan conflict.

The agency has yet to make any statement, but this is not the first time fans have slammed YG Entertainment for failing to protect Ahyeon this year. Back in June, the company was also accused of sexualizing the 19-year-old idol and intentionally using her to create controversy.
