While body image has always been a topic in K-Pop discussions, recently, netizens have noticed some concerning trends among idols.

In and outside of K-Pop, stars have begun appearing much thinner than previously documented. Certain behaviors and comments from idols, including low body weight reveals, have sparked pushback against eating disorder culture.

Amid this, a popular male idol’s comments have stood out.

Aside from his music releases, many know Wonho as the “buff K-Pop guy” who sometimes shares surprising photos of himself and his body. Wonho has transformed his body over the years, sporting impressive muscles that he works hard to maintain.

A clip from one of his live streams was shared online, in which a fan asked the idol whether she should lose weight.  Wonho answered that 60 kg (the weight the fan gave) was an amount he could easily carry for a very long distance.

The idol also questioned why the fan was trying to lose weight, saying that 60 kg was “really light” and “baby weight,” even.

The video has since gone viral, with many finding comfort in the idol’s words amid the seemingly rising trend of extreme thinness.

Seeing what we are seeing lately about weight on the kpop community this is so nice and I hope people can see this and be reminded that THIS is the normal, not the 40kg underweight if u are older than a young teen https://t.co/jLAsMnOHcS
