Episode count: 7
Reasons to watch: Netflix is offering up adrenaline and testosterone galore in Bloodhounds 2. Our heroes Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi unite once more to take on baddies, with Rain taking the villain mantle.
The second season of Bloodhounds begins three years after we last left best friends, and they’ve rebuilt their lives, with Woo Do-hwan finding success as a professional boxer. But that success puts him on the radar of the man behind a shadowy underground boxing league that is intertwined with an online betting ring.
Rain is a multitasking villain, and not only does he run the league, he also fights in all the main matches. When he sees Woo Do-hwan’s rising star, he sees won signs and offers Woo an obscene amount of money to fight in the league. Woo’s uninterested in any extralegal activities, but Rain doesn’t know how to take no for an answer and he turns to violence in an attempt to strong-arm Woo into the league. But our fearless bloodhounds Woo and Lee Sang-yi aren’t the type to just sit back and let Rain get away hurting their loved ones. And so the real fight begins, with our heroes working together to take down Rain and his henchmen.
Watch for a high-octane fight-fest that will combine a buddy underdog story with lots of superb fight sequences. Rain is an actor who can blend so much physicality with his acting; I’m excited to see him play an antagonist against our leads.
