Former Produce 101 Season 2 contestant Seong Hyunwoo shocked viewers after sharing a chilling real-life story involving a man who allegedly chased him with a knife.

In a recent video, Seong Hyunwoo recalled a frightening incident that began during a quiet dinner at a kalguksu restaurant in Jeju. He had booked a guesthouse in Jeju in a quiet area for some downtime. As the sun was setting, he found a kalguksu place nearby. It was one of the only open restaurants in the area.

According to Hyunwoo, there was only a drunk middle-aged man in the huge place. He was seated one seat away from the man. The middle-aged man heavily intoxicated and began yelling at a waitress. Hyunwoo realized that the waitress was a foreign worker who struggled to understand the man’s orders. The situation grew increasingly uncomfortable as the man continued swearing loudly, prompting staff to look toward Hyunwoo for help.

Hyunwoo said he politely intervened, asking the man if everyone could eat quietly. The request reportedly angered the man, and the restaurant owner eventually forced him to leave. Hyunwoo noted that the owner seemed to know the man. Later, the owner and waitress kept offering Hyunwoo food for free, but their gratitude made Hyunwoo uncomfortable as it seemed excessive. Hyunwoo quickly paid and left, feeling uncomfortable. However, the situation did not end there.

Hyunwoo explained that on his way out, he later encountered the same man outside. The man kept calling him over. Hyunwoo went over as he wasn’t sure who was calling him. As he approached, he recognized the man. The man allegedly approached him with his hands behind his back before asking, “Are you good at fighting?”

Moments later, Hyunwoo claimed the man revealed a sashimi knife with the knife’s handle tied to his wrist. Hyunwoo realized that he was the owner of a sashimi restaurant nearby. Realizing the danger, Hyunwoo said he slowly backed away before suddenly running. He described the man chasing him while holding the knife, leaving him no time to call anyone or report the situation.

Hyunwoo eventually hid behind a stone wall and waited silently until the footsteps passed, later making his way back to his guesthouse. He then contacted police, telling them someone had chased him with a knife. According to Hyunwoo, authorities later informed him that the suspect had been apprehended nearby and restrained while still holding the weapon.

Months after returning to Seoul, Hyunwoo said he received official notice that the individual had been charged with special intimidation, confirming the seriousness of the incident. Viewers reacted with shock at the story, with many expressing relief that Hyunwoo was unharmed and praising his calm response during the encounter
