Reborn Rookie Lee Jun-young teams with daughter Lee Joo-myung

Sprinkling a little soul-switcheroo magic, JTBC’s latest promos puts Chairman Sohn Hyun-joo (The WONDERfools) on a wild tailspin when he’s Reborn Rookie and finds himself in the body of Lee Jun-young (Pump Up the Healthy Love).
Suffice to say, the head of Choiseong Group’s Kang Yong-ho (Sohn Hyun-joo) is quite alarmed, having landed in a hospital after an accident. And while his body lays comatose in the ward, his spirit has somehow been embodied in soccer player Hwang Joon-hyun (Lee Jun-young).
The ‟official” story is that the chairman committed a hit-and-run, with Joon-hyun being the victim. But this of course is all a manipulation by the double trouble twins – Jeon Hye-jin (Mother and Mom) and Jin Gu (Moon River) – who destroy the evidence of what really happened. They then put on a show of publicly apologizing on behalf of their father, in order to seize control of Choiseong for themselves. And they go as far as compensating Joon-hyun (who is really Yong-ho) with an intern position at the corporation.
Despite not knowing that their father is in their midst, his kids are taken aback by who they think is Joon-hyun’s angry rant, which sounds exactly like something the chairman would have said. You see, being in the body of a bottom-ranking employee, Yong-ho is now able to see the corrupted work practices that were hidden from his viewpoint in the chairman’s seat.
He thus bands together with his not-evil-but-secret younger daughter Lee Joo-myung (My Youth), who applied to be an intern at the company under an alias. And their ultimate plan is to reclaim Choiseong and restore its honor. But first, our different generation hero will have to learn Excel.
Directed by PD Go Hye-jin (My Youth) with Hyun Ji-min (Pandora: Beneath the Paradise) writing, JTBC’s new fantasy series Reborn Rookie is slated to premiere on May 30 this month. Adapted from a popular webnovel, the author San-kyung also wrote the original webnovel behind Reborn Rich.
