A sexual harassment incident occurred during the after-party of a dance performance. The perpetrator admitted to the misconduct and uploaded an apology letter.
Dancer A (25) repeatedly touched the buttocks and thighs of the victim B (20) during the after-party held following the 2026 Winter OF Dream performance on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Instead of reporting to the police, B demanded an apology letter that included their real name.
In response, on the 19th, A posted a lengthy apology letter on their account mentioning both their own and B’s names. The letter revealed that unnecessary physical contact had occurred not only during the after-party but also during the preparation period for the performance. In the apology, A bowed their head and expressed, “I sincerely apologize to anyone who was harmed or felt uncomfortable because of my actions. I am deeply sorry to those I have hurt.”
As the apology letter, which revealed the victim’s real name, spread online, netizens expressed concerns about secondary victimization of B. However, the victim B soon spoke out to clarify the circumstances behind the apology letter’s release.
On the 20th, a day after A’s apology, B posted on their personal account, stating, “I do not want to create misunderstandings about what is currently happening to me.” According to A, both parties agreed under the mediation of the performance director to obtain the apology letter after the harassment incident. B explained, “I did not want to feel the shame of having my body’s worth assigned a price, and I judged that this is something that must not be forgotten,” and confirmed their consent to the use of their real name. Furthermore, B stated, “I am bringing this issue to light so that no one else will suffer the same harm and so that victims can raise their voices.”
As a result of this incident, A was expelled from their dance team. The dance team to which A belonged released a statement on their official account on the same day the apology letter was posted, saying, “This incident is a personal misconduct unrelated to the event organizers or our team. We are currently establishing accurate facts about the situation and will respond responsibly where necessary.“
