Restoring Honor with Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, Lee Chung-ah
by tccolb
Although the naysayers will scoff that it’s a losing battle, ENA has Lee Na-young (One Day Off), Jung Eun-chae (The Dream Life of Mr. Kim), and Lee Chung-ah (Hide) showing their attorney grit, fighting to restore true Honor in the latest video teasers and character stills.
Forming a fierce trio as friends and colleagues at our story’s L&J Law Firm, the promos introduce us to celebrity personality Yoon Ra-young (Lee Na-young) and L&J’s steely CEO Kang Shin-jae (Jung Eun-chae), as well as brains-and-brawn lawyer Hwang Hyun-jin (Lee Chung-ah). And together, they are taking up the grueling but crucially needed work of representing female victims who would otherwise be helpless against the legal system’s corruptions.
The obstacles are unfortunately large, when the perpetrators come from rich and powerful circles, not to the mention society’s toxic tendencies of blaming and shaming victims for what happened. And it seems that the legal-mystery’s overarching conflict involves a widespread sex-trafficking cartel, operating online.
Our L&J attorneys are determined to ensure that justice is rightly served and I presume Hyun-jin’s husband, police detective Choi Young-joon (The Price of Confession) will help. But I don’t think the same can be said for L&J’s rival prosecutor Seo Hyun-woo (Ms. Incognito).
A remake of the 2019 Swedish series by the same title, ENA’s adaptation of Honor also stars IT company CEO Yeon Woo-jin (A Virtuous Business), Shin-jae’s mother Kim Mi-sook (As You Stood By), and former judge Lee Hae-young (Buried Hearts) among other supporting cast.
Premiering in two weeks on February 2, the series follows I Dol I in the Monday-Tuesday slot. Production has PD Park Gun-ho (Dongjae the Good or the Bastard) at the helm, with scripts penned by Park Ga-yeon (Train).
