SBS unveils teasers for its 2026 lineup

    by solstices

As we usher in the new year, it’s also time for a preview of the year’s upcoming dramas. SBS has generously released teasers for all its future fare, giving us a sneak peek of what’s to come. With a diverse range of genres and a star-studded casting lineup, it seems there’s a lot to look forward to.

    Drama: God and Law Firm
Director: Shin Joong-hoon (One Dollar Lawyer)
Scriptwriters: Kang Cheol-gyu and Kim Ga-young (Alice)
    Premiere date: March 2026

First up, we have an investigative comedy with a dash of the occult. Yoo Yeon-seok (When the Phone Rings) stars as Shin Yi-rang, an attorney whose name means “with the gods.” Befitting of his name, Yi-rang finds himself possessed by his ghostly clients, thoroughly bewildering the Taebaek law firm CEO Kim Kyung-nam (Connection). Yi-rang’s antics also earn him a glass of water to the face from the Taebaek attorney Esom (LTNS). But for all that Yi-rang complains about how exhausting getting possessed is, he still does his best for the spectres that seek his assistance. “If I don’t do it, who else would listen to their stories?”

    Drama: Sold Out Again Today
    Director: Ahn Jong-yeon (Seoul Busters)
    Scriptwriter: Jin Seung-hee
    Premiere date: April 2026

Next on the list is a healing rom-com set in the idyllic countryside. Evidently, name puns are the latest trend – Ahn Hyo-seop (A Time Called You) stars as the village farmer Matthew Lee, whose name sounds like “quail.” Chirp chirp! But his peaceful lifestyle is upended by Chae Won-bin (Who is She!) as the top home shopping show host Dam Ye-jin. Her latest project is centered around a specific type of mushroom, which has her chasing Matthew down when she spots it in his truck. It seems Ye-jin needs it for a business deal with Kim Bum (Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938), and so she charges right into Matthew’s life – and perhaps even his heart as well.

Drama: Wicked World (previously Brave New World)
Director: Han Tae-seob (Cheer Up, Stove League)
Scriptwriter: Kang Hyun-joo (Lost in Starlight)
    Premiere date: May 2026

Rewinding back to the past, our next drama is a time-slip fantasy that takes its heroine from the Joseon era to the present day. Im Ji-yeon (Nice to Not Meet You) steps into the shoes of a historical villainess forced into execution by poison, only to be startled back to life by a director yelling “Cut!” Turns out she now inhabits the body of a no-name actress in the modern day, which leads to an encounter with the “capitalist monster” Heo Nam-joon (A Hundred Memories). Not only do they cross paths, but they also end up crossing swords – or should I say crossing flower stalks? But of course, since this is a rom-com, they end up in an embrace that feels all too familiar. Perhaps there’s a thread of fate linking this villain and villainess together?

    Drama: Manager Kim
Directors: Lee Seung-young (Wonderful World), Lee So-eun
Scriptwriter: Nam Dae-joong (The First Ride)
Premiere date: Later half of 2026

The next drama takes a turn to the dark side, delving into the world of noir and crime. As our titular hero, So Ji-sub (Mercy For None) may seem like an ordinary bespectacled single father with a regular job at a bank. However, he’s hiding a secret that may as well make him a ticking time bomb – he’s a spy whose double agent work has put him on North Korea’s most wanted list. Worse yet, his existence should never be uncovered in the South. But when his beloved daughter goes missing, he puts everything on the line – teaming up with Choi Dae-hoon (Pro Bono) and Yoon Kyung-ho (The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call) to face off against Joo Sang-wook (Bora! Deborah) – to rescue her. “I’m only letting you live because I believe my daughter is still alive.”

    Drama: Flex x Cop 2
Director: Kim Jae-hong (Revenant, Through the Darkness)
    Scriptwriter: Kim Bada (My Name)
Premiere date: Later half of 2026

Kicking off sequel season is the second instalment of this action-comedy, once again starring Ahn Bo-hyun (Flex x Cop) as our titular chaebol cop. Showing off his wealth, his extravagantly reckless lifestyle also winds up getting him into several accidents, such as crash landing on a windshield or ramming a helicopter’s skids into a moving car. Oops. Joining him this time is Jung Eun-chae (Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born) as the new team leader of the violent crimes team. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see her in this teaser, but perhaps that simply drums up the anticipation further?

Drama: Doctor X – The White Mafia Era
Director: Lee Jung-rim (As You Stood By)
    Scriptwriter: Pyeon Sung-geun
    Premiere date: October 2026

Pivoting to the medical field, our next drama is supposedly the tale of a lone wolf. Kim Ji-won (Queen of Tears) steps into the operation theater as the top surgeon Gye Soo-jung, amidst her fellow doctors who deal in money and power behind their white coats – in other words, the coalition of the white mafia. Yet Soo-jung refuses to be cowed, boldly raising objections and earning herself the nickname of “Doctor X” for her refusal to conform. Perhaps she’s even earned the admiration of the kind-hearted intern Kim Woo-seok (The Forbidden Marriage)? Alongside the shrewd businesswoman Lee Jung-eun (Heavenly Ever After) and the hospital director Sohn Hyun-joo (Your Honor), our solitary doctor stands by her unwavering resolve.

    Drama: Good Partner 2
    Director: Kim Ga-ram (Nevertheless)
    Scriptwriter: Choi Yoo-na (Good Partner)
Premiere date: Later half of 2026

Last but certainly not least, we have a much-anticipated legal sequel to round off the year. Jang Nara (Good Partner) reprises her role as the top divorce attorney Cha Eun-kyung, who’s since opened her own firm. Just like its name “Spring Again,” Eun-kyung hopes to usher in a new spring and fresh start for her clients. And once again, she finds herself partnered up with a fresh-faced rookie. Though it’s a shame that Nam Ji-hyun (To My Beloved Thief) won’t be returning this season, we have the effervescent Kim Hye-yoon (Lovely Runner) as Eun-kyung’s new protégé. “Trust me!”
