An industry insider told Sports Chosun on the 26th, “Shin Ye Eun will be the lead in the new drama High School Queen.”
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, High School Queen tells the story of Kim Cheong Ha, the queen of Joseon and the greatest swordswoman, who is reincarnated as Park Da Jin, a modern-day high school girl, using Joseon martial arts to punish bullies and deliver a thrilling catharsis.
Earlier, Studio Dragon announced, “We are planning and developing the webtoon High School Queen into a full-length drama. While maintaining the webtoon’s refreshing ‘cider action,’ we also plan to strengthen the romance elements that span the past Joseon era and the present day. Furthermore, Studio Dragon, in collaboration with CJ ENM, is considering expanding the IP into other content areas such as films and animation inspired by the webtoon High School Queen.”
Shin Ye Eun is set to take on the lead role in the drama adaptation of High School Queen. She will portray Cheong Ha, Joseon’s greatest warrior and queen, who is reincarnated in the body of modern high school student Park Da Jin, delivering a series of exciting twists.
Shin Ye Eun has showcased her versatility across genres with memorable roles. Having demonstrated her skills from school dramas to action and winning the Best New Actress award at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards, expectations are high for Shin Ye Eun’s lead role challenge.
