HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk is reportedly facing supplementary investigations over alleged fraudulent trading. According to Seoul police, the case — centered on alleged “fraudulent unfair trading” — has now reached its final stages. If it turns out that Bang derived profits or avoided losses through unfair trading exceeding ₩5.00 billion KRW (about $3.31 million USD), he could face a prison sentence of at least five years up to life imprisonment. If the courts decide to impose a fine, it might be set at three to five times the amount of the illicit gains.

In a poll titled “Should HYBE Founder Bang Si Hyuk Go To Prison?”, fans were asked which legal consequences Bang should face if he is found guilty. “I think someone other than Bang Si Hyuk should face legal consequences.” was the least popular poll option. Just 1% of voters chose it.

The second least-popular options both received 2% of the votes: “I think Bang Si Hyuk should receive an alternative sentence, rather than jail time or fines.” and “I think Bang Si Hyuk should be fined, but not severely.” The latter option ranked higher by just three votes.

4% of voters “think Bang Si Hyuk is innocent and should not face any legal consequences,” while another 4% say they’re undecided. “I’m undecided” had a three-vote lead.

Meanwhile, 7% of voters chose, “I think Bang Si Hyuk should be fined the maximum amount,” and 12% picked, “I think Bang Si Hyuk should be imprisoned for the minimum time (five years).”

The majority of voters chose, “I think Bang Si Hyuk should receive the maximum sentence (life in prison).” 67% picked this option.
