Single’s Inferno Season 5 contestant Lim Su Bin (also known as Lim Su Been or Cha Been) is officially returning to his journey as an actor.

On February 13, 2026 (KST), SPOTV News confirmed that the contestant—who gained attention for being Song Joong Ki‘s lookalike—will appear in tvN’s upcoming K-Drama, Gift.

“Single’s Inferno 5” Contestant’s Past TV Appearance As A “Cutie With Abs” Resurfaces Amid Rising Popularity

Gift is a baseball drama based on the Kakao webtoon of the same name. The story follows a professional baseball team coach who gains extraordinary abilities after an unexpected accident and is appointed as the manager of a last-place amateur team. Actor Kim Woo Bin will lead the series, with filming scheduled to begin in the first half of this year.

Lim Su Bin is actually a former baseball player who spent 10 years as a pitcher before choosing to pivot to the entertainment industry due to injury. As Gift is a baseball-themed drama that allows him to showcase his real-life athletic background while pursuing his acting dreams, attention is building over what kind of performance he will deliver in the series.

That said, Netflix‘s hit series Single’s Inferno has become a gateway into the entertainment industry, with contestants quickly rising to stardom and using the show as a stepping stone to launch careers as rookie actors or influencers. Lim Su Bin appears to be another such case, as his public recognition surged through the program, paving the way for expanded acting opportunities.

However, criticism continues that dating reality shows are shifting away from their original purpose of finding genuine romantic connections and instead becoming platforms for self-promotion. As contestants frequently sign exclusive contracts with entertainment agencies or announce new projects shortly after the show ends, some viewers have begun questioning the program’s authenticity.
