KBS has announced that the romantic comedy Love Cloud is drifting ahead on the horizon for 2027, confirming casting for Song Joong-ki (My Youth) and Park Ji-hyun (See You at Work Tomorrow) to headline the series. And it’s a reunion for the two actors who worked together previously on JTBC’s Reborn Rich in 2022.
Our hero is Kang Woo-joo (Song Joong-ki) and has basically spent his whole life chasing clouds. In the early part of his career, Woo-joo – whose name means ‟universe” – took command of it amidst the vast skies as a flight instructor. But one day he gave up flying and landed a place for himself on Jeju, looking up to watch the clouds from day to day as an air traffic controller at the island’s airport.
Keeping with the theme, Ahn Ha-ni (Park Ji-hyun) enters the story like a lightning strike on Woo-joo’s life (again), and it’s not entirely figurative. You see, an unexpected incident cursed Ha-ni with the peculiar ability to change the weather. But it’s often beyond her control because it’s triggered by her emotions. It also doesn’t help that Woo-joo and Ha-ni once dated, digging up both good and bad feelings from their shared past.
In the second lead roles, we can expect to see a flight paramedic Lee Shi-woo (Love Me) in addition to airport staff member Choi Hee-jin (Boyfriend on Demand) who will be working in the air traffic tower as well.
KBS’s Love Cloud is slated to broadcast in the weekend slot early next year, with PD Song Min-yub (High Cookie, Youth of May) at the helm and scripts by a writing team known as Mad Rabbit.
