Song Kang and Lee Jun-young are rival pianists in Four Hands

tvN begins promotions for coming-of-age drama Four Hands (working title). Starring Song Kang (Sweet Home 3) as an elite pianist and Lee Jun-young (Reborn Rookie) as his new rival, the story follows the lives of the students enrolled at an arts high school and their growth against a backdrop of friendship, love, and competition. This project marks Kang’s return to dramaland following his military discharge on October 1, 2025.

Kang Bi-oh (Song Kang) is a piano student who has never dropped from the top spot thanks to his competitive nature. Coupled with his desire to be praised, he spends ten hours a day practicing the piano and is a perfectionist. While most of his peers waste their time being jealous of his talents rather than practice, a new student in class treats him differently and comments on his playing.

Shaking up Bi-oh’s perfect world is the hidden genius Choi Jung-yo (Lee Jun-young). On the outside, he acts cold, but in reality, Jung-yo is a sensitive soul. He plays piano to get through tough times and uses it as his escape. Unlike the others at the school, Jung-yo understands music instinctively and is ignorant of all the jargon being tossed around in his new environment. The only person he knows is Bi-oh, but unfortunately, the prickly pianist has no memories of Jung-yo and finds his antics strange.

Joining our two pianists is viola player Hong Jae-in played by Jang Gyuri (When the Phone Rings). Her natural talents and sensitive ears help her recognize Jung-yo’s and Bi-oh’s music and their worth. Standing by Bi-oh’s side, she brings him positive energy as a reliable friend and constantly encourages him when he feels down.

Also in the cast are Jung Jin-young (Queen of Tears) as Bi-oh’s grandfather and international conductor Kang Seung-woon and Yoon Se-ah (Love Me) as Bi-oh’s mother Kang Ji-hye. In addition, Kim Joo-hun (Our Unwritten Seoul) plays Bi-oh and Jung-yo’s piano teacher Do Hyun-soo who looks at people before music.

Directed by PD Park Hyun-seok (Song of the Bandits) with scripts written by Shin Yi-won (Green Mothers’ Club), tvN’s Four Hands premieres later this year in August.
