The catalyst for our drama and the tension between our two leads revolves around the discovery of a murdered woman whose identity links back to Shin Hye-sun’s character.
Shin Hye-sun’s Sarah is known to the world as a high-flying executive of a luxury fashion brand, but her past is shrouded in mystery and rumors. While we, the viewers, know she wasn’t always moving in such rarefied air, the circumstances of how she became Thee Sarah is of great interest to detective Lee Jun-hyuk.
Lee has been tasked with solving the murder case and the first step is figuring out her identity. The woman’s name is Sarah, and other details indicate that she’s none other than Shin Hye-sun–except Shin is alive and thriving doing rich fashionista things. So, who is the real Sarah? Is Shin a con artist, or a killer? Lee begins his pursuit of the truth–whatever “truth” may mean.
The vibes are giving “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and I am here for it! While The Art of Sarah is shaping up to be both a taut thriller and layered mystery, our leads are also a major draw for me. Beyond the mini Forest of Secrets reunion, both Shin and Lee are so adept at giving nuanced, gripping performances, so I’m eager to see how they bring their characters to life.
