In the March 24, 2026 episode of SBS’s Whenever Possible Season 4, Kim Gun Woo appeared alongside Yoo Jun Sang as a guest, joining hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok. At one point, Yoo Jae Suk shared that it was his first time meeting Kim Gun Woo in person, commenting, “Because of his role as Son Myeong Oh in The Glory, people might have a certain impression, but in real life, he looks incredibly gentle.”

Kim Gun Woo then revealed a noticeable change, sharing, “I’ve gained about 11 pounds (5 kilograms) since then,” drawing attention to his much softer, more “approachable” visuals compared to his sharp, villainous image in the hit show.
When Yoo Yeon Seok agreed, noting that his character still leaves a strong impression, Kim Gun Woo commented on how people have been reacting to his weight gain.
That’s exactly why! People have actually told me that it’s far better now that I’ve gained a bit of weight.
