Chinese idol Ling Chao, a member of the popular boy group ONER, has become one of this week’s most talked-about figures online, but not for a performance. The idol trended on social media after a video circulated accusing him of forcibly pulling a female fan to the ground at an airport.
The viral clip reportedly shows Ling Chao reacting to a fan who was filming him up-close.
According to discussions online, the exchange appeared to begin when a female fan was filming Ling Chao at very close range, prompting him to make physical contact that resulted in him bringing the fan to the ground.
What makes it worse is that this doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident. He previously jumped at a fan who tried filming him coming out of his car.
Footage can be watched below.

Supporters argued that idols frequently face invasive behaviors from sasaeng fans, and that Ling Chao may have acted instinctively to protect his personal space or safety.
I don’t even have the context or know who he is, but I support him!!!

Critics slammed the action, claiming the reaction was excessive and inappropriate, especially against a fan who was reportedly unarmed and not threatening.
I get she shouldn’t be all up in his face but it’s giving abuser vibes…. https://t.co/26lEWSFW3x pic.twitter.com/rFiSWMzfHl
