Actress Kang Ye Won has stunned netizens after revealing that she once invited around 40 male actors to her birthday party. On June 11, Kang Ye Won uploaded a new video to her YouTube channel featuring actor Go Chang Seok, where the two reminisced about their years in the entertainment industry.
During the conversation, Kang Ye Won brought up one of the most memorable birthday parties she had ever hosted.
“Do you remember when about 40 male actors came to my birthday party?”
Go Chang Seok immediately recalled the unusual event.
“It was the first time I’d ever seen someone go to the salon for their birthday and then throw a party like that.”
Kang Ye Won then revealed that inviting dozens of actors wasn’t even the strangest part.
“I gathered all of my elementary school friends and invited all those male actors for them to see.”
According to the actress, the atmosphere was awkward at first because none of the groups knew each other. She went on to name several well-known stars who attended, including Sol Kyung Gu, Lee Min Ki, Kim In Kwon, Oh Dal Su, and Park Joong Hoon. The actor explained that it was unusual for someone to invite their personal friends to a gathering filled with industry colleagues.
“I thought she was crazy. Normally, when actors get together, they don’t invite all their childhood friends too. I honestly thought something was wrong with her.”
Kang Ye Won then explained the real reason behind the unconventional guest list. She said the party was meant to be a gift for her longtime friends rather than a celebrity-filled event for herself.
“My elementary school friends and middle school friends knew I was an actress. Of course they’d want to meet actors. I wanted to give my friends a present. I told them, ‘It’s my birthday, so I’m going to invite actor friends, actor seniors, and actor juniors. Come and hang out with us.’”
The revelation quickly attracted attention online, with many netizens joking that only someone with an extraordinary network could casually gather dozens of famous actors for a birthday celebration.
