It will not be operated anymore.

After nearly two decades, BoA’s official fanclub Jumping BoA has officially come to an end, sparking mixed reactions among fans and netizens.

According to an announcement by SM Entertainment, Jumping BoA, which had been operated under SM Entertainment, will be closing following BoA’s departure from the agency. SM Entertainment had been responsible for managing the fanclub, including its paid membership system and official fan activities. With BoA no longer under the label, the fanclub’s operations were discontinued rather than transferred.

Hello. This is Jumping BoA. We sincerely thank the fans who have loved and supported BoA all this while. Along with the end of BoA’s exclusive contract with us on December 31, 2025, her official fanclub Jumping BoA will also cease to be operated.

It will officially close on March 31, 2026. The closure marks the end of a fan community that had been active for 19 years, accompanying BoA through her career milestones in Korea, Japan, and beyond. While many acknowledged that the decision aligns with standard business practices, since the fanclub was formally created and managed by SM Entertainment, netizens expressed disappointment that the fanclub rights were not transferred or continued under a new structure.

    • Can we not use the name anymore? This feels weird.
    • It’s the end of the contract, so I guess they aren’t allowed to just pass over the fans’ personal information to any random company. The fans didn’t agree, so what do you mean transfer the operation rights?
    • Maybe they’ll transfer the YouTube account to her? She can always make a new fanclub.
    • Gasp…
    • I feel like we can still continue to use the name Jumping BoA! Seems like SM will give it to her, just based on the vibes.

Although such outcomes are common when artists leave long-time agencies, it still feels regretful given the fanclub’s history and emotional significance. As BoA enters a new chapter of her career, fans continue to show support informally.
