IVE’s Yujin has once again proven her top-tier star power by becoming the face of a bank card. But here’s the ironic twist:! She’s not eligible to own the card herself.
Yujin was recently revealed as the model for Hana Bank’s “Nara Sarang Card,” a well-known debit/ID card used in Korea. Her face is printed right on the card design, making it one of the most eye-catching bank cards around.
But despite being the literal face of the card… Yujin can’t apply for it. The Nara Sarang Card isn’t just any bank card—it’s exclusively issued to those who are currently serving or have previously served in the military. In Korea, the card functions as a service ID card, and a debt card. It also serves as a benefit card for soldiers and veterans.
Since Yujin has never served in the military, she doesn’t meet the eligibility requirements—even though her photo is printed on the card itself. She expressed her disappointment over it.
Hana Bank said that a Yujin card will be released, and I said I wanted it too. I was like what do I have to do to get it, and they said I’m not applicable for it…
Being the face of a military-exclusive bank card highlights Yujin’s massive public recognition and trustable image. Perhaps they’ll gift her a non-working copy of the card as a keepsake!
