DJ DOC member Lee Haneul is currently under criticism after he became furious and used profanities after police arrived in response to a report while he was livestreaming from a store he operates.

On May 16, Lee Haneul conducted a livestream through his YouTube channel Catch King Lee Haneul. That day, Lee Haneul was DJing while livestreaming from the gopchang restaurant he currently runs. Some viewers watching the broadcast questioned whether it was okay to DJ in a residential area. Since loud music could actually be heard in the broadcast, some expressed concern about possible noise affecting nearby homes.

Lee Haneul explained that the music volume was not actually that loud, but eventually police arrived at the location during the livestream. Lee Ha Neul believed some of the viewers watching the livestream had reported him. When police appeared, Lee Ha Neul explained to the camera that people send in reports whenever he streams.

“People are reporting us again. Whenever I do YouTube livestreams, they report us. We’re not exceeding the decibel limit, and we’re playing it inside the store. Calling busy public officials out here and bothering them is causing trouble. It’s a nuisance to the police officers. This isn’t a volume level that bothers other people. Since the speaker is right in front, it sounds louder, so someone reported us because they want to mess with our business. They created a whole story and made busy officials and police come all the way here. That’s causing trouble.”

Lee Haneul repeatedly explained the situation to the responding officers and said that the location of the speakers near the camera created a misunderstanding. While moving the camera, the officers briefly appeared on screen, and the police firmly stated that they could not be filmed.

Lee later explained that the police did not issue a ticket and left quickly. Previously in February, Lee Ha Neul also faced reports while holding actress Kim Gyu Ri’s fan meeting at his restaurant after songs were played through audio equipment. At the time, false claims spread online stating that the restaurant had received a “2-month business suspension,” which Lee Ha Neul said was unfair and reportedly also negatively affected sales.
