TWICE member Nayeon has sparked a heated discussion on social media for an unexpected reason: talking about her armpits.

Recently, a clip featuring Nayeon and Somi went viral on X (formerly Twitter), where the two idols were talking about people’s interest in K-Pop idols’ armpit care. Nayeon mentioned seeing content about underarm whitening and similar topics, and Somi immediately agreed.
Nayeon then revealed that she had never gotten any such treatments done to her armpits, adding, “I’ve never even looked at mine!”
In fact, she appeared confused about why anyone’s armpits should be anything but bright, given that it’s a body area that’s always shielded from the sun.
The two idols then agreed they had never paid much attention to their underarms.
This clip has now racked up over 1.6 million views on X, with many calling out their remarks as “lies.” Some people, however, wondered if both the idols were actually ignorant about the various reasons that can cause women’s armpits to develop pigmentation.

I forget that kpop “idols” don’t study science or go to school, bc why and how armpits of everyone will be naturally white?! Folds of skin generally are pigmented bc of constant brushing of skin, including hormonal reasons as well
