Two Future Ha Young Dramas with The Long Shot Trial with Lee Je Hoon and Trauma Code: Heroes on Call 2 with Joo Ji Hyun at Risk After Pro-Japanese Ancestor Scandal

The fallout from the pro-Japanese doctor ancestor scandal with K-actress Ha Young continues on, not really abating even one week into it. More information continues to come to light about her family – that her great-grandfather wasn’t just a pro-Japanese collaborator but actually married a Japanese woman and his household operated entirely in Japanese, that her grandfather worked in a medical operation on an island that quarantined diseased patients and may have conducted unethical medical tests, and that her mother studied abroad in the late 1970’s when it was extremely rare and could likely have only happened because of their family wealth and connections. All of their family wealth and good fortune with multiple generations of doctors is presumed to have came from her great-grandfather’s pro-Japanese ties. Anyhoo, her Netflix drama Our Sticky Love remains available for streaming and would not be pulled by an international platform like Netflix over what is essentially a Korean cultural and historical castigation on her family, but her next two dramas are now in question. She is filming legal drama The Long Shot Trial with Lee Je Hoon which is 2/3rds done and this October she was supposed to start filming season 2 of Trauma Code: Heroes on Call with Joo Ji Hoon. It’s not clear what will happen with either drama, if she will be replaced, or just go forward and maybe air later after this has (can) died down. Netizens are also pitying Lee Je Hoon for his string of bad luck as this is his third drama to run into a scandal by a costar – he had to re-film a lot of Taxi Driver when Na Eun was cancelled for bullying and highly anticipated Signal 2 completed filmed remains unclear if it will ever air after Jo Ji Woong left the industry over his serious juvenile record past.
