Heroes Next Door finished

The acting in this drama, by every actor, is top-notch, also most characters are especially competent, and competency is extremely attractive. But is it possible to be too competent? Because in this story we have too much of it.
Too many veterans, too much money, too many people knowing too much, too many niche specialties, too many guns, too many super-influential people around a rural neighborhood…
I was liking the story a lot for 5 eps, but I ff’ed through ep 6 and some of ep 7 because it became too boring. It picked up near the end of ep 7 with the convenience store husband taking the bomb away, but honestly, it felt like with SO MANY resources and qualifications these guys have absolutely no excuse not to fully succeed as quickly as possible, which takes away a lot from the tension and excitement, if you know what I mean…
And then from ep 8 everything turns completely personal, so it’s like all that has happened up til now is from another drama, and leaves you wondering why did we even start with bombing the neighborhood when we could have gone straight for the corrupt guys… Oh right, because that story has been told too many times already…
And then the villain is inexplicably after Kang instead of his original targets… Not that he, or we, ever knew who his targets were.
I HATE that we have Kang’s daughter as bait the whole time. I HATE it. Why couldn’t they give the congresswoman a daughter?? Threatening any child is a crime, but at least that woman deserved to be worried sick. What did it all have to do with Kang??
On the whole, this drama’s point of strength for me was Yoon Kye Sang’s amazing dual acting in the first half, his incredible chemistry with Jin Sun Kyu, the supermarket family, and the deep and honest friendships, especially how the wife was so willing to become friends with everyone.
And it’s HUGE weakness was all the villains. It feels that the writer had some cute ideas about some neighborhood heroes and storylines, but had no idea about villains. And they just shoved in some villains haphazardly, ruining everything.
