Yoo Ah-in returns to the big screen in Vampir

Director Jang Jae-hyun’s newest film Vampir (working title) secures its cast with Yoo Ah-in (Goodbye Earth) headlining the project. This will be the actor’s first role since his drug-related scandal back in 2023, and news of his comeback has garnered a lot of attention online.
The upcoming mystery-occult movie follows an unidentified contract killer hired by a clergyman to chase after a cryptic pagan group. Yoo plays the aforementioned contract killer who remains steadfast and not easily swayed under any conditions, but when he faces off against this unknown entity, he starts to slowly experience a change.
Lee Sung-min (Teach You a Lesson) joins as the clergyman who breaks a taboo in order to hold onto his beliefs. As a result of his actions, he finds himself torn between his responsibilities and guilt.
Also in the cast are Lee Jun-hyuk (The Art of Sarah) who plays a fanatic heathen obsessed with eternal life, and Yoon Kyung-ho (Agent Kim Reactivated), a smuggling broker who ends up accompanying the pagan group.
After an intense audition process, newcomer Kim Doi (of the girl group H//PE Princess) makes her screen debut as a girl shrouded in mystery. Lastly, Choi Hyun-wook (Notes from the Last Row) takes on the role of a U.S. Army lieutenant with a questionable objective.
For those unfamiliar with the director’s work, Jang Jae-hyun has made a name for himself within the occult genre with his latest movie Exhuma passing the coveted 10 million admission threshold. It seems his next project will play to his strengths and may even fit within the wider world of The Priests, his first feature-length movie. Now that the cast has been confirmed, filming is set to begin this month with a tentative premiere date planned for sometime in 2028.
