Yoo Yeon-seok opens up God and Law Firm

A new ghost-possessed attorney is in our midst over at SBS’s investigative, occult comedy God and Law Firm (working title). Ahead of its premiere next month, the broadcasting station has released photos from the show’s first script reading along with a batch of stills of its cast.

Yoo Yeon-seok (When the Phone Rings) headlines as the show’s titular shaman attorney Shin Yi-rang, whose name aptly means “with the gods.” Yi-rang is the type of person who stops to help an old lady on the streets, so when he starts seeing ghosts who need his assistance, the attorney’s bleeding heart cannot ignore their pleas.

In contrast to our warm and comedic lead, Esom (LTNS) plays the ace attorney Han Na-hyeon who is known for her icy charisma. She boasts a 100% success rate while working for Taebaek law firm and only feels alive when she wins a case. However, as she interacts with Yi-rang, the rational Na-hyeon must confront a world beyond her comprehension and learn to adapt.

Stepping into the role of Taebaek CEO Yang Do-kyeong is Kim Kyung-nam (Connection). Though the CEO on paper, the real leader of Taebaek is Do-kyeong’s father, so in order to prove his worth, Do-kyeong does everything in his powers to protect what is his. He views Na-hyeon as both an ally and his greatest asset, but everything he worked so hard to build is threatened by Yi-rang’s presence.

As for the supporting cast, Jeon Suk-ho (Squid Game 3) plays Yi-rang’s brother-in-law and struggling actor Yoon Bong-su. He joins Yi-rang’s firm as his paralegal and uses the skills he has acquired over the years to help out. Filling out the rest of Yi-rang’s family are Kim Mi-kyung (Surely Tomorrow) as matriarch Park Kyeong-hwa, Sohn Yeo-eun (Spring Fever) as older sister Shin Sa-rang, and Lee Ah-rin (Typhoon Family) as niece Yoon Da-bong.

In addition, Jung Seung-gil (Cashero) plays the mysterious priest Matthew who offers Yi-rang advice, and Heo Sung-tae (Good Boy) makes a special appearance as ghost client Lee Kang-poong.

Directed by PD Shin Joong-hoon (Seoul Busters, One Dollar Lawyer) with scripts by Kim Ga-young (The Huntresses) and Kang Chul-kyu (Alice, The Huntresses), SBS’s God and Law Firm is slated for sixteen episodes and opens its doors March 13 in Friday-Saturday slot.
