The child was born later that year, and a 2022 DNA test confirmed him as the father. That said, the actor made a comment in a new teaser for TV Chosun‘s Joseon’s Lover, offering an unexpected update on his life as a father.
In the teaser, Kim Yong Gun brings up his late-in-life child during a filmed meeting with his daughter-in-law, actress Hwang Bo Ra. During the conversation, Kim Yong Gun nearly referred to his grandson by his youngest son’s name—calling him “Si On” rather than “Woo In.”

Drawing attention to the mix-up, Kim Yong Gun said, “My little one’s name is Si On. He’s grown a bit now, so rather than me taking care of him, I end up following him around.” The comment ended up highlighting a fatherly side as he spoke about his now six-year-old son.
