Former LIMITLESS member Sung Hyunwoo revealed his experience of being assaulted by an acquaintance while trying to stop a drunk driver.
Recently, he posted a video on his YouTube channel, recalling an incident that happened when he was around twenty years old.
It was when I left the company where I was a trainee and entered college. I had an older friend who was like a real brother to me, and he had a lot of worries that day, so we started to have some drinks. I had to start looking for a company to start my trainee life again, and he was going through a difficult time as well. We drank until the sun came up.

However, they encountered a problem on the way home.
I went to catch a taxi, but my friend said he brought his car and would have to call a designated driver. He had a lot to drink, so I was worried and went with him to his car. But it seemed like he wanted to drive himself. I told him I would wait until he called a designated driver, but he bickered with me, telling me to just go.

Eventually, he called a friend, and they waited together.
While we were chatting and waiting, he suddenly punched me in the face. I was hit in the nose and ear, and blood started to drip. It was so sudden, but I felt a mix of betrayal and anger, wondering why he would hit me when I was trying to prevent an accident.

He ended up reporting the assault to the police at the scene.
As soon as the police arrived, I was bleeding profusely, and they sent me to the hospital. However, I was angrier than in pain. I told them I would write a statement at the police station.

After visiting the hospital, he was diagnosed by the medical staff and was required to be hospitalized for more than a week.
It was only then that I received a sincere apology from my friend. We met and talked, and he apologized in front of my family. If it had happened now, I probably wouldn’t have forgiven him so easily, but at that time, I really adored him, so I forgave him.

However, the friendship didn’t last long.
At first, he even took good care of my parents and kept in touch, but soon after, we lost contact. After that, we naturally drifted apart.

Meanwhile, Sung Hyunwoo became known for his appearance on Mnet’s Produce 101 Season 2, and later debuted under the boy group LIMITLESS in 2019.
